Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
Hi Lovely people!
Ever since I was a little girl, I always found so much joy in dressing to the 9’s- nails done, hair done, everything did. As I’ve grown, finding make up that not only suits my type of skin (dark skin, combo, yellow undertones, sensitive etc…), but doesn’t irritate it either has become a daunting task for me. First thing’s first- I’m not a make up artist nor do I aspire to be one. Perhaps when I was 6? But now- I don’t have the patience. I give all the shout-outs to the folks who can really blend and create art-pieces on their faces. But I’ve come to terms with understanding that that’s just something I’m okay with being mediocre at.
If there’s anything I’ve learned in my basic-makeup life, it’s that:
1) I prefer the brand to be cruelty free
2) I value natural products
3) Light make-up is everything- especially if it doubles as something healthy for the skin and-
4) Quality quality quality.
Some mascara and a bit of lip gloss carry me a long way, so I was ecstatic to learn I’d get to test the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Duo. Check out the duo and the application process below:
First, I like to start out with completely clean lashes but using a bit of coconut oil. After ensure my lashes are clean, I start off with the first step of the duo- the Velvet Epic Lash Primer. The primer is a soft-beige colour, created to “condition lashes and take your mascara to the next level”. After trying this one, I definitely saw a shift in both the length and the volume of my lashes.
I let the primer sit for about 20 seconds before I start with the noir mascara. Here’s a look at my lashes after-the-fact:
Once I start applying the mascara, I try to cover each space on my lashes so you’re unable to see the primer. Thankfully, the formula’s were built off of one another, so getting full coverage extremely simple. Here’s a look at my face once I’ve applied the mascara:
Overall- I’m extremely impressed with how great this mascara is. Like I mentioned in my instagram post- applying falsies is not my strong suit, so finding mascara’s that allow me to attain these looks are extremely valuable to me! I’m so glad I’ve finally found the one. It’s everything I want in a mascara!
What’s your one mascara that never lets you down?
