Staple Summer Skincare Regime

Hey All!!
My skin has changed quite a bit over the last few months, so I've had to alter my regime to accommodate to it. I'm in especially dry weather for a stretch of time this summer as well, so take a look and see what's working for my skin right now!
** I have combination/oily skin, along my cheekbones and in between my brows being the oiliest + troubled areas.

1. Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment
This bad boy always works when I need him to. I carry it in my purse in case an evil little pimple wants to pop up, and I always notice a different right away.  Best thing about it? You can apply it as much as you want. I usually throw some on every time I'm in the bathroom, especially if it's a big, painful one.

2. Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
I use this in the mornings after rinsing my face. Because I have combination/oily skin, I try to use products that still moisturize my skin but don't make me look even *oilier* than before! This moisturizer works great and smells great too!  Since it's summer, I only use a day cream-- you'll find out why in a minute.

3. Skincerity Breathable Night Mask
I started using this night mask about a month ago and I've had exceptional results. I've been using it to lighten the hyper pigmentation I've acquired on my cheeks over the past few years and it's lightened all my scars-- old and new! It has a very strong smell which isn't great for everyone, but it's definitely working on my skin and I recommend it to anyone looking for renewed, glowing skin! I apply this after washing my face at nights, so I don't use a nightly moisturizing cream right now. In other seasons, I used the Body Shops Vitamin E Moisturizing Night Cream.

4. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen (SPF60)
As if you haven't read this all over the internet already-- sunscreen is super important for the skin! Melanin rich or not, you need sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun and it's beautifully violent rays. I started using face-specific sunscreen in and around 3 months ago and it's helped me keep my skin in tact in so many ways. I've noticed healthier, glowing skin since I started using it! Tip: It can be really hard to find sunscreen that doesn't make black skin look 'ashy'-- but I promise this does the trick. A little goes a long way with this little guy. Be sure to use 15 minutes before stepping out into the sun and reapply as needed. Wear ALL YEAR ROUND.

5. LUSH Enchanted Eye Cream
Living in dry weather conditions means some parts of the skin are prone to drying out. For me, that means eyelids! If you've ready my past posts and review on the Enchanted Eye Cream, you know it helped me get rid of severely dried eyelids and continues to work wonders for me. I've added it to my list of staple products because it's light, really efficient and wears many hats!

6. Rose Water (in a cool glass bottle thing)
The rose water I've got in this bottle is from the Grace brand. I always run back to rose water and find that it never fails to save my skin. It helps cleanse my skin and keep it clean while I'm on the street! If you've got oily skin like me, walk with rose water in a spritz bottle and nourish your skin where ever you go. Trust me, you can thank me later.

It can be frustrating to change your regime as the seasons come and go, but I hope this works as a guideline!

xoxo,
