Loc Maintenance: Keeping Your Scalp Fresh with Fresh Partz
Hello Lovely People!
I hope you’re still finding your paths and being gentle with yourselves at this time. If you haven’t been- please remember to be. Nothing we are experiencing is ‘normal’ and all you can do is keep trying your best.
Lately, I’ve learned quite a few things about my overall perspective of routine in COVID-19. I’m very privileged to have the opportunity to spend more time working on myself. I’ve been allotting that time to aligning with the woman I hope to someday be. One specific way I’ve been choosing myself everyday is through moving my body. I have always been relatively active, but my relationship with building a healthy lifestyle and implementing it into a very hectic and sporadic schedule had little to no chance of success. Now that that schedule is essentially dead, my daily workouts have done wonders for my mental and physical health. But one thing I didn’t quite realize would arise as an issue, is how this may impact my beauty regime.
In case you hadn’t yet realized- I now have locs. I started them nearly 16 months ago and I’ve loved every minute of them! Through learning how to maintain them, I’ve found that I can’t wash them more than once every-two-weeks at the most or else I run the risk of overwashing and further, damaging my hair. Before I got locs, I often wore braids as a protective style. It was convenient for me because it lessened the level of maintenance my own hair usually required. Because braids are a protective style, they also do not require much washing. So in-between washes, I would opt for a leave-in conditioner or I’d use dry shampoo to help keep my hair fresh. Neither worked for me, and the day-long, 15-step hair care routine would be forced to commence sooner than I’d hoped for. Not to mention, my hair never stayed as neat after washing. My hair always came out frizzier and my parts would be knocked down a few notches on the scale of ‘neatness’. Hair wash days quickly became a choice of whether I wanted to sacrifice fresh, healthy hair, or my hairstyle. It was never an easy choice *sigh*.
Thankfully, Fresh Partz has more than filled this gap and created a product that not only freshens up your hair without sacrifice of neatness nor time, but also keeps it moisturized, promotes hair growth and circulation, gently exfoliates AND balances the pH of your scalp. Not to mention, they’re extremely convenient and smell just as fresh as it feels when you take a sip of ice-cold water after chewing peppermint gum.
I guarantee you, you won’t find better.
Want to jump straight to the video to hear my thoughts? I got you. Check it out here.
Fresh Partz is meant to be used in-between washes. Think of it like make-up wipes! It’s not going to get rid of everything in your hair that a good wash would, but:
The Sweet Basil, Cypress, Lemon Peel, Rosemary, Patchouli and Mandarin essential oils increase blood flow to your scalp (promoting hair growth!)
Cedarwood, Cypress, and Tea Tree essential oils help regulate sebum secretion. (moisturizing the hair)
Gently rubbing the wipes against the scalp will loosen dirt and dead skin that clog the hair follicles and inhibit hair growth.
To use Fresh Partz, use a section of the wipe and gently rub against your scalp throughout your entire head. Be sure to switch sections of the wipe as you work your way through the scalp. It takes no more than one wipe and some good swipes for a fresh, rejuvenated scalp.
Although I’m not travelling due to COVID-19, I can’t wait until I can throw a few of these babies in my weekend bag, gym bag, a trip or even day-to-day in my purse. I’ve already gotten compliments from my sister and my grandmother about how fresh my scalp smells, so I know I’m covered when things really start to open up again.
You can purchase a sample wipe for $2 to try out, but shortly thereafter, you’ll want to purchase a bag of 12 for $20- don’t say I didn’t warn you! Oh- and you can get yourself a sweet 20% off just by signing up for emails. We love a sale!
Do yourself a favour and Freshen up your Partz. You won’t be disappointed.
