Versed Skincare Review

The lovely folks over at Versed Skincare (check their IG here) shared some goodies with me to celebrate their official launch at Shoppers Drug Mart! I was instantly hooked the moment I read their reviews and saw their aesthetic. Talk about clean cult beauty 🤩 I’m so happy I can grab their products just around the corner from home. Not only are they committed to clean beauty (non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free) but they are real advocates for reducing waste, lightening our carbon footprint, and preserving Earth’s ecosystems. Their mission, clean as their brand, is simply to “make good skin and clean beauty products for all”. Let’s see if they’ve accomplished their mission, shall we?

Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm. This is the first *solid* cleanser I’ve used. It’s made with EUCALYPTUS OIL, CLOVE LEAF OIL, VITAMIN E, JOJOBA OIL and AVOCADO OIL. The ingredients work beautifully to dissolve make-up & remove dirt and impurities without stripping the skin.  Although I do this as part of my skincare routine, I usually *have* to double cleanse to get my make-up off with regular cleansers. With the cleansing balm, I could easily skip a second wash with clean, happy skin. Two very fat thumbs up for me.

Just Breathe Clarifying Serum. This lil cutie came at the PERFECT time. It’s near that time of the month for me and I usually break out. This serum literally gave my skin a chill pill and I am beyond grateful. It’s in the name, fam. “Woooosah” said my pimples. It absorbed into my skin in the 2 minutes it said it would, and I’m bougie so I like the “patting” method they suggested rather than rubbing when getting product to absorb. Very lightweight and moisturizing, too! A new favourite serum, indeed.

Vacation Eyes Brightening Eye Gel. My eye area is super sensitive so I always approach my creams with caution. I haven’t seen any drastic results with this eye cream yet, but it has been keeping my lids and under-eyes fairly moisturized.  I have no irritation and my skin appears a bit smoother after application. I’ll have to revisit this one with more time + use.

Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream. I love the texture of this cream. It’s a lightweight, gel consistency and is meant to leave the skin feeling refreshed sans the oiliness. My skin gets dry in the cooler months, but this moisturizer did me well for the last bit of Summer. Recommend for you if you have oily skin!

The Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel. This has become a favourite in a short span of time. After just one use I noticed brighter, skin with a clearer complexion the next morning. I typically get a little anxious with any peels because they can be harsh on the skin. This applies like a cream and actually hydrates the skin overnight. It is, and I quote “non-scary”. It’s even gentle enough to use back-to-back. This is absolutely a staple.

Overall, I am impressed with the products I received from Versed. Based on my experience thus far, they are well on their way to accomplishing that mission of theirs. My skin thanks you, Versed!
